What God demands of us is truth.
1 — that we are truthful about what we are: sinners.
2 — that we are truthful about what we as sinners need: redemption (forgiveness of sins).
3 — that we are truthful in that we are not able either in ourselves or through our religious establishments able to redeem ourselves.
4 — that we are truthful in that we recognize that redemption can only be accomplished by and through God Himself. – Mary Haigh
