Psalm 19
<<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>> The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. (Psalm 19:1)
The blindness of sin takes the heart of man away from his Creator. In Genesis 3:7 God recorded that the eyes of them both were opened. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. Their eyes, however, were not opened to the glory of God, for Adam had walked with God and had been in the presence of the glory of God. Their eyes were not opened to His glory, but to the darkness of sin. Goodness had given way to evil, and now Adam’s heart was deceitful and desperately wicked above all things. God is the Omnipotent Creator. He is all powerful in both deed and thought. The ways of man are committed unto man himself to obey His Creator, which he has not done, because of sin. God’s ways are past finding out for man does not have the spiritual capability of discovering God unless God reveals Himself. For God in His determinate counsels knows the end from the beginning and the beginning to the very end of mans history on earth. All the ways of man are known of God. He knows the very seat of man’s disobedience, for it is the heart of man that betrayed and denied His Creator.
God’s creation, therefore, must be a witness for Him, all molecular structure speaks of Him. Count the stars if you can, then name them one by one; God has already done this, and He has set them in the heavens above to testify of His power and glory. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. (Psalm 19:1) In their dark surroundings the stars give forth their light drawing their existence from the very power of God. They sing praises to God even when man is silent because of the deadness of mans heart. The voice of the stars cannot be changed, although with the natural ear man does not hear them, nevertheless, they sing to the glory of God. It is sin that has altered the sight and the hearing of man, the Lord would declare ‘Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not.’ (Mark 8:18) Consequently by the fall of Adam the music of the heavenlies was silenced. No one can change this music because man is just not able to hear its abundant tones. The stars testify to the very glory of God. In verse 1, this testimony is to His handiwork. And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: (Hebrews 1:10) The Lord Jesus in the beginning of the creation of the earth laid the very foundation of our planet to stabilize it, and to preserve it from the coming horrors of man and his sin, and this foundation that cannot be moved. This does not include His work in creating heaven itself, for in the beginning the Lord Jesus created the heaven and the earth.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (Colossians 1:14)
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Colossians 1:15)
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Colossians 1:16)
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (Colossians 1:17)
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:3)
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. (John 1:10)
And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (Ephesians 3:9)
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, (Hebrews 1:1)
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (Hebrews 1:2)
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)
The heaven was to show forth His glory, and to be a place of His throne, for heaven is His throne, and earth is His footstool. The visible heavens (containing the stars) are the lower parts of His glory, they are the gateway or the barrier between the visible heavens and those that we cannot see. His heaven and His throne are concealed from man because of man’s sin. Consider the heavens: looking at the stars is too wonderful for the thoughts of mankind.
Man wants to make the stars simply tangible objects; mankind has no idea that these stars are preaching the gospel to them in the darkness of night. The first witness of God to man is His creation. But man will not listen, he will not hear the power of the wind, he will not see the fruit of the rain, he will not behold the rolling clouds filled with water, lightning and thunder. Man simply says to himself, This is continued from the beginning and there is nothing special about the creation. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water. (2 Peter 3:3-5) In fact, mankind declares that the whole creation came about by chance (an accident) and that includes man himself. Man is incapable of reaching out to a God that he cannot see, he cannot hear, and he cannot feel in the depth of his heart. Man’s soul is so corrupted, his spirit is so depraved, that God must reveal Himself and His glory. And this glory must be displayed, and exhibited by the highest Himself. And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her. (Psalm 87:5) The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. (Psalm 18:13)
As God reveals Himself in His creation, the highest Himself came from heaven’s glory, and was born in Zion to be a witness of His own glory, and His own majesty to mankind. This is why in Hebrew 7:26 the Creator of all things (the Lord Jesus Christ as the ManGod and the GodMan) is made higher than the heavens. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens. The power of Psalm 18:13 has been committed to Him, for He has all power in both heaven and earth. Despite the hardness of the hearts of mankind the heavens continually declare His glory. How can man fail to see such a story? The stars open volumes to us. Man has used them for navigation, for direction, and yet, man sees them not as the created fingers of the Lord of glory. As we look up at these beautiful glittering mass objects in the darkness of the night that surrounds us, they one by one, look down upon us. Each light should awaken an awareness of the eyes of God, for the eyes of God goes to and fro throughout the whole earth. (2nd Chronicles 16:9) For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
God’s eyes are not blinded by the darkness of man’s heart, for it is God who is the only true discerner of the hearts of man. Man is not capable of judging himself, mankind as a whole does not accept that they are sinners, that is why they deny their Creator. They deny that He has created, and they deny that there is an Omnipotent Being capable of discerning all their ways, and judging them based on their good and evil. Man will not accept that he is born into this world as Adam’s sin. It is Adam’s sin within every man that turns the heart of man away from His Creator. As the stars bring light to the darkness of night, it is God Himself who brings light and the knowledge of God to mankind. For in the Lord Jesus there is no darkness at all, nor shadow of turning. Man cannot understand the perfect Man, for all men have the imperfection of sin within. The knowledge and comprehension of man are so tainted by sin that the stars are just objects of illumination in the night. Man stands (all men) in the darkness of his own heart. The fact that the stars shine in the blackest night is an overview of man himself walking in darkness with no light. It is by one man sin came into the world, and death by sin. This was brought to light when Cain killed his brother Abel. This was the first death of a human being. It was caused by a heinous act of murder because Abel’s works were righteous. Abel walked because of the call of God, and he walked in God’s light. Cain walked in man’s darkness that he received from his father Adam. Mankind has not changed, for he is a murderer from the beginning. Man depicts himself as brave, fearless man, and this fearless man will take a child out of the womb and dash it upon the stones of his sinful heart. Man’s darkness is so deep that he can wash his hands, change his surgical gloves, and then simply say, Next — without a thought of what he has just done. What am I, am I my brother’s keeper? These were the very words of the first murderer of this evil world. The political systems that have given us abortion are just as evil and corrupt of heart as Cain, and so therefore all who are involved in bringing abortion into this world (no matter how little they participate) are of their father, the Devil (he was a murderer from the beginning). For it was Satan who brought death to man. And all those who have participated in this horrible evil ungodly act will receive the judgment of God for the price of innocent blood. Pilate washed his hands, but could never rid his hands of innocent blood. The blood could not be washed off his soul, and he (like the proponents of abortion) waits for his judgment at God’s great white throne. Every time life is taken from the womb the penalty of that crime is against God’s children (and like the blood of Abel, their blood yet speaketh). And the judgment will be so severe that like Judas a special place is prepared for them in the fiery judgments of God where there will be outward wailing and gnashing of teeth for the pain and suffering they have caused in denying life and taking innocent blood. Many politicians and judges and rulers will stand before the Almighty God and feel the fire of God’s wrath against their sin and participation in this evil act of abortion.
In the darkness of night the stars speak to man, they testify of God’s glory with their voices of light. They testify of the glory of the only begotten Son who is in the bosom of the Father. The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works. (Psalm 104:31) Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: (Psalm 104:1, 2) The 104th Psalm is an absolute treasure in the word of God. You cannot merely read this psalm. You must meditate on it. This is one the scriptures that must enter into the depths of man’s soul. In our day of liberal thought and liberal ideas, as the masses deny the Being of God, we (as the children of God) need to go to that holy place before God where David (the king and prophet) spent his time in the secret place of the most high God. As Christians the proof of our Christianity is that our being thirsts for God, and thirsts for His righteousness. Each and every day we need to seek the living waters from our Lord Jesus Christ. These are the living waters of our eternal life in Him.
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.(Psalm 19:2)
Like the stars we need to have a voice within singing continually to the glory of God. Many times as this pen will witness, I have sat in the early morning watching the last star dim and disappear as the sun comes from the east to me. The shades of darkness get lighter as the sun peaks through the trees as it claims its dominion in its own glorious light. So, day unto day uttereth speech, verse 2, of Psalm 19, Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. (Man is so familiar with the sun that he pays no attention to the brightness. He is so familiar with its warmth, and yet, day unto day the sun is speaking out of its tabernacle that God has given it as a witness of God’s glory and majesty.) The darkness is past as I see the light come to me. I do not go to it, but the light comes to me. I listen to the silent speech of God’s creation now groaning under the weight of man’s sin. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. (Romans 8:22) The weight of every sin presses on the very core and foundation of our world. Deep calleth unto deep, so is the madness of the heart of man. We have a level of disobedience in our society that we term insanity. This is every man in his opposition to God without Christ. It is insane for man to think he can bring about his own salvation. For without the knowledge of God man is in a hopeless state. (Two souls, two men stop for a mere coffee break during a shift of protecting the people in their office as law officers in a country setting in central Florida. And death comes in the door. Cain fires his gun, and the two men go into eternity.) The world declares that there is no rhyme or reason, yet there is a reason, the reason is the sin of man. It is not the gun, it is not the environment, it is not the education, it is the heart of man that is the seat of all iniquity. Who can know the heart of man? Only the Lord. Is man going to examine his own heart in righteousness? No. Only God is capable of an accurate examination and report on the wickedness of the heart of man. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (Jeremiah 17:9,10)
Day unto day God’s speech is uttered unto all men. Humanity’s sin and iniquity have worked havoc with the very creation itself. Even the creation fights back at man’s wickedness. God has set within the creation a wonderful capability of renewing and rejuvenating itself after man destroys it, thus creation itself testifies of the Creator and Being of God through its revitalization and resurrection power. As the heavens declare the glory of God, so the earth maintains itself despite man, showing the preservation power that God has placed into His very creation.
This age has been stated by man as the day of man. In man’s day, he denies the creation of God, and it’s very Creator, but now at the end of the age, man’s sun is setting. Soon darkness will come over the whole earth in the great tribulation, and in the final days of that tribulation a great wave of darkness will come over the whole earth. This will be the last testimony of the very creation against the darkness of man’s heart. The darkness in the kingdom of the beast will be so tremendous that men will gnaw on their own tongues for the pain of their sin that has brought darkness upon them.
And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. (Revelation 16:8)
And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. (Revelation 16:9)
And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, (Revelation 16:10)
And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. (Revelation 16:11)
In this darkness is there a knowledge of God, is there any light for these unrepentant sinners? As we read this text we see that although they are in pain, and they are suffering because of their sin that they KNOW that it is because of their sin. They will still not repent and turn to God. Twice in the 16th Chapter we have the phrase repented not, they have an opportunity to repent and they do not. Notice also that in the book of the Revelation the word ‘repented’ referenced as repented not and/or ‘neither repented’ is recorded five (5) times. (Five, of course, is the number of grace.) This shows that there is a knowledge of God, but in their unrepentant state they deny His Being and His grace. The fool has said in his heart that there is no God. (Psalm 14:1; 53:1) Our society is on the brink of total darkness because of the fool, and his many ungodly thoughts and deeds. In the end of the history of humanity there will still be a knowledge of God. Men will not repent, showing us that there are two paths: one path leads to the righteousness of God, the other path leads to the darkness of sin and Satan.
In the deepest dungeon that man could find, and in the darkest holes that man could be cast, we read in Acts 5 of two of God’s servants, and yet, out of the darkness all heard the song of praise to God. Darkness had no power over the light of God. It did not possess the servants of Christ because they had been freed from the darkness and given the light, the glorious light, of the Son of God. The Spirit of God testifies to this wonderful light as they sang out praises to their God. Angels watched these redeemed men (new creations in Christ) sing unto their God and Creator. For God is able to deliver from the fire although it is heated seven times hotter. The sun brings light as it rises in the east, it also brings heat to testify of both God’s goodness and God’s judgment.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. (Psalm 19:3)
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun. (Psalm 19:4)
The lines of God’s creation are innumerable when I consider one of the great artist of all times Leonardo DaVinci. Who cannot see the complexities of his drawings and plans, line upon line, so accurate that it seems like another hand guided his. Sometimes, as mere men, we get lost in those complexities and lines. When looking at what man has done in his drawings, think of the complexity of God’s plan and lines in His creation. We have before us the preserved word of God in the KJV Bible. The Spirit of God’s hand is upon it, and therefore, man can seek the truth, and the truth will set him free, but there are many books that God has not allowed us to see. These are the books that contain His charts, His lines, and the parameters of all His creation. And man is not allowed to see or to open these books. There are two men (Daniel and John) mentioned in Scripture who were told to seal up the books that they had seen. We also have a man named Paul who ascended into the third heaven, and was told not to divulge the things that he had seen. What has been given to man in our Bible is quite adequate, in fact, it goes beyond what man should know, this is to present to man a path for man’s salvation: how a man can be justified before God. God’s complete plan is to bring man to Himself through the sacrificial death of His Son Jesus Christ. And because of the death of Christ on the cross the man who refuses this sacrificial and justifying work of Christ is without excuse before the Almighty God. God has taken His time through His creation, through enduring the wickedness of man because of the intricacies and complexities of His plan and the lines that go into all the earth speaking of His glory. (We often refer to the gospel as the simple gospel, and this is true, however, the plan formed in the determinate counsels of the Godhead are beyond the comprehension of His creatures). Think of the lines in the plan: just the depth of the material in which He would form all of creation: the solids, the gases, the liquids, the unknown elements, and the combination of all to make a rotating spinning sphere to be inhabited by man. And this sphere would withstand all of man’s conflicts with both His Creator and the very creation that God placed man into. Here are the complexities in the simplicity: the very lines, the dots, the cross t’s, line upon line, precept upon precept have been set before us to teach us the knowledge of God.
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. (Isaiah 28:9)
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: (Isaiah 28:10)
For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people (Isaiah 28:11).
To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. (Isaiah 28:12)
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. (Isaiah 28:13)
Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. (Isaiah 28:14)
Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: (Isaiah 28:15)
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8, 9)
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (1st Corinthians 1:18)
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. (1st Corinthians 1:19)
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (1st Corinthians 1:20)
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (1st Corinthians 1:21)
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: (1st Corinthians 1:22)
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; (1st Corinthians 1:23)
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. (1st Corinthians 1:24)
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (1st Corinthians 1:25)
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: (1st Corinthians 1:26)
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; (1st Corinthians 1:27)
And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: (1st Corinthians 1:28)
That no flesh should glory in his presence. (1st Corinthians 1:29)
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (1st Corinthians 1:30)
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.(1st Corinthians 1:31)
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. (Romans 1:19)
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:20)
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1:21)
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:22)
The Lord has brought before us a small portion of His word that we might perceive and understand the mind and wisdom in which God wants to reveal Himself. The world that we live in, however, is not interested in God. They are caught up with selfies, and not with their Creator. In man’s heart he still wants to be ‘as gods.’ The old lure of Satan still works and exists today, and in many ways, man plays at being a god every day: in self worship he sees his fabricated goodness as the goodness of God. He has foolishly turned the worship of God to the worship of himself. Most churches glorify man not God. How sad that the stammering lips of apostasy cannot find his very Creator for the lines have gone out to all the earth.
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. (Psalm 19:3)
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun. (Psalm 19:4)
There is a language of God. There is a language of angels. There is a language of the stars. There is a language of the sun and the moon. There is a language of truth, and there is a language that has been given by the Spirit of God to all men to draw them into the presence of a God who is a saving God, who is a God who will forgive sin and iniquity. He is a God who of Himself gave Himself to pay the dreaded price of sin. He sacrificed Himself to redeem man, and leaves no stone of sin unturned to reveal Himself. He even broke the bands of the groaning of creation, although not fully completed as of yet, the creation itself knows that it has been brought into the liberty of the sons of God. And there is no place that these languages, that these lines have not gone on planet Earth. Even now, today, God will send this message by one small wire to the uttermost parts of this world. There is no place that these voices are not heard. Remember that it is God who has given all the languages to man. Can you comprehend that the very communication that we have between ourselves has been given of God? In the many voices, man does not comprehend these voices; not because of his intelligence does he deny God’s voice, he denies God’s voice because of his sin. Sin wants mankind to hide themselves from the presence of God. Man wants to cover his own sin with his own garments of fig leaves or self righteousness. In many ways man does not hear a word. In many ways man will not perceive the word of God, but God has declared that His word, His line upon line, His precept upon precept has gone out into all the world into the very end of this world. Man is therefore without excuse, man has no defense for the very sin that is within him. Man will not acknowledge that it is that sin within him that continues to bring forth his death. Death is a voice that everyone will hear. Everyone listens when death passes by. Everyone listens when death is lowered into the ground, but then, they shrug their shoulders and continue in the path of sin and to their own deaths.
We have light and we have darkness, and it was the darkness that was over the face of the deep. It was God who commanded the light to come forth with the words of His mouth He proclaimed, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3) ¶ And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. God also created the sun and the moon, one to rule the day, and the other to rule the night. They are in contrast to each other, yet, they are joined by one light, for it is the sun that gives light to the moon. The moon is just a reflection of the glory of the sun. Thus, God placed the sun in its own tabernacle that the sun would rule the day, and in the darkness of night the moon (by the reflection of the sun) would rule the night. God’s ways are not our ways, His mysteries are His own mysteries. The tabernacle of the sun is the course of the sun’s dominion. He continually comes from the east to bring warmth and light to the earth. The sun has both a majesty and a glory of its own.
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. (1 Corinthians 15:39)
There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. (1 Corinthians 15:40)
There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. (1 Corinthians 15:41)
The sun outshines the moon, for the moon derives its light from the sun. This shows the subjection of the moon to the dominancy of the sun. The moon in the great darkness is to reflect the glory of the sun in the darkness of this world. So, the world is influenced by the moon, and the moon influences the tides, the seasons, even the planting of seeds. The moon exerts a gravitational pull on the earth although not part of the earth. The moon’s power is felt by all, for man’s very being is influenced by the movement and power of the moon. We do not fully understand these things, but all these things testify to the Creator of all things Jesus Christ. God uses the word ‘tabernacle’ as a dwelling place. In Exodus, Moses was to build a tabernacle so that God could dwell among His people, Israel. In placing the sun in its own tabernacle, God was reflecting a future glory, a future place where He Himself would be the Light of His new creation in the new heavens and the new earth. And there He, God, would dwell among His people, and He will be their Light, and there will be no need of the sun or of the moon.
Even the sun rising in the east has been placed there to reveal the power and the glory of God the Son. And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah. (Numbers 2:3) And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. (Ezekiel 43:2) And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also [were] beside them, and [every one] stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD’S house; and the glory of the God of Israel [was] over them above. (Ezekiel 10:19) For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (Matthew 24:27)
It is Jesus Christ who has created all things, He has created all things in conjunction with the will of both the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Son of God is the Light of men, the Son of God is the Light of the world, the Son of God will be the Light of the new heavens and the new earth. In Christ’s position as the Light of the world, the only wise God became man. He humbled Himself and was made in the form of a servant, and came to earth to redeem Adam’s race. This same Man, Jesus Christ, that was crucified, that rose from the dead, that ascended into glory is the same Man who waits in heaven for us. He became man to redeem man. He was glorified as a Man to glorify men. He has called out a people to be part of His glory. This could not be done by Adam. This had to be done by the divine Son of God who is now in heaven for us. As He was the GodMan on earth, He is now the glorified GodMan in heaven. This, the wisdom of man, cannot comprehend. Like the Godhead, this knowledge is far beyond the thoughts and comprehension of mankind. Man can only know his Creator from His Creator’s voice, It is I, be not afraid. Three times in Scripture we have this phrase recorded, It is I; be not afraid. (Matthew 14:27; Mark 6:50; John 6:20)
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. (Psalm 19:5)
His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. (Psalm 19:6)
As God gave the voice of creation, as He gave the sun a voice, and a dominion, as He placed the stars to sing of His glory, so the voice of God goes out to all the earth. Each and every day, the sun claims his dominion over the earth, the sun comes out of his tabernacle as a strong man takes his dominion. He comes like a bridegroom to claim his bride. He comes out of his own chamber, and we can relate this to the Son of God in the Song of Songs, which was Solomon’s the king. The Creator of the temporal world did not stop with mere mass, or elements of energy and force, but God created a sphere of beauty painted with cooling reflective restful colors of green and blue. He did not give man a dominion of gray barrenness to rule over, but mankind was set into a scene of beauty and rest. God, however, did not stop with an earthly kingdom.
He created a kingdom that far outreaches mankind’s understanding. This is a spiritual kingdom, a spiritual world (which is far beyond the physical sight of man) in which we cannot see. What we know of it is brought to us by the very words of God. Even the redeemed could not conceive the Church or the body of Christ if it was not presented to us by God Almighty joining us together by the Spirit of Christ. Each member of Christ’s body has been claimed by the strong man coming out of His tabernacle. He has claimed each and every one of them by His redemptive work and sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. As in Psalm 19, and in Song of Solomon, Christ is the mighty Man come out of His chamber. He came out to run the race and that race was to the cross at Calvary. He came to claim a bride and therefore, He looks upon her and surrounds her with the fullness of His glory. This is the prize possession that He gave Himself for. This is the pearl of great price. This is His jewel of eternity that He has purchased and claimed for Himself. He came to earth, and He tabernacled or dwelled among men. He came to the dwelling place of man to shed and to bring forth His light of a new day. In the declaration of His life He proclaimed to man that He was the way, the truth, and the life, and the man who believes on Him will have eternal life, and those who refuse Him will suffer the heat and the judgment of God in the eternal fires of damnation.
The natural sun in his tabernacle pushes back the cold, for nothing grows in extreme cold; cold is related to death, and we are reminded of the phrase, the cold waves of death. This wave comes over every man, so in the extreme cold of the earth nothing grows, there is no life, but the sun travels its course. This course is set by God. The course of the sun is to warm and to give light and life to man. Both the sun and the moon affect the earth in its growing season and in its harvest. These are the fruits of the sun’s labor. The sun also draws the waters into the clouds through evaporation, and this in turn give us the rain, both the latter and the former rains; that man may grow and harvest to bring forth life. All this, the sun, the moon, the waters, the clouds, evaporation was given before the manifestation of God in Jesus Christ. Christ claimed all these things for Himself that He, the Son of God, was the water of life, that He was the bread if life, that He was the light of life. And like those things that are above Christ came from heaven’ glory far above all His own creation. Like the rain on the meadow He came to bring forth the green grass of precious souls. And in His great love He proclaimed life eternal!
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. (Psalm 19:7)
In verse 7, the voice and words of creation give way to the written words of God, we have this in the law and the testimony. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The Spirit of God takes us further into God’s revelation of Himself. We bridge creation speaking out with the word of God. The words of creation give way to the written word of God for it is settled in heaven forever. ¶ LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. (Psalm 119:89) Man might dispute the word of God, man might deny the word of God, but as a pillar of truth the Almighty has settled it in heaven forever. The law and the testimony is perfect, converting the soul. Don’t stumble here, for the law is righteous, for we had not known sin except the law condemns us. It was the law that exposed us to our own sin, and the depth of our depravity.
Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. (Galatians 3:21)
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. (Galatians 3:22)
But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. (Galatians 3:23)
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (Galatians 3:24)
But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. (Galatians 3:25)
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:26)
Man has a stiff neck when it comes to his depravity. Mankind is morally bankrupt, I’ve been alive for seventy-three years, and I have watched what man calls morality, what I have gleaned is that it is a perverted morality, and consequently man keeps changing his standards. Man’s morality is not consistent, it is ever changing for the worse, however, the law of God is established in the righteousness of God. God’s law and God’s morality never changes, for they are based on His own personal righteousness. The law was given by the righteousness of God, and in the righteousness of God, thus the law is perfect and without defects. It is a standard directly given from God. Those who rebel against the law itself show the absence of grace, for the law came by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. The Son of God Himself declared of Himself that He was the fulfillment of all righteousness when John baptized Him in the river Jordan. Christ is the union of both law and grace. The Lord Jesus Christ kept the complete divine law in His lifetime, and He satisfied all the righteous claims of the law in His death and sacrifice upon the cross of Calvary. We do not approach God through the law. We approach God through the Upholder of the law, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He died, and in His death He honored the complete law of God. Yes, when He died He gave freedom to those who were in bondage under the law by satisfying the law in His death. Each and every Christian is now no longer under the penalty of the law. We are under the grace of God. Love does not dismantle the law. John 3:16 does not disgrace the law, grace is based on God’s love, and this love is based on the law. Christ gave Himself to take the burden of the law away, yet leave a record of it for man’s moral control. Christians, therefore, are free from the burden of the law, but we are not free from the moral standards of the law. The Lord Jesus said this, If a man love me, he will keep my commandments. Now, in the reasoning of this writer, the Lord Jesus was speaking of all the commandments that He had given to man since the foundation of the earth relating to man’s salvation and moral responsibility which have all been satisfied at the cross of Calvary in God’s dear Son. Man under the law became a victim of the law because of his own sin. The law never condemned the sinless (which are none). Contrary to modern belief, grace like the law is based on God’s righteousness, and this is why the Lord Jesus proclaimed that He Himself was the fulfillment of God’s righteousness. (Matthew 3:15) And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. Now, this is something that you will not hear: when Christ saved my soul, in Him I fulfilled the law of God; for His righteousness became my righteousness. When Christ saved my soul, I fulfilled the grace of God when I believed in Jesus Christ. I became a saved and righteous being before God. Every time that God looks at me, He looks through His Son, Jesus Christ, and sees no shadow of turning, but the perfect righteousness of the Son of His love. Reflecting on the new creation, I am no more my own being, I no longer belong to Adam, I belong to God. I am a new creature, a new created being in Christ Jesus who satisfied all the claims and standards of the law so that grace became a companion of the law. When Christ satisfied God, grace satisfied the law. I walk by His standards, I walk by His guidelines, I walk by His word, Christ has empowered a new creation with His own Spirit of righteousness, and this Spirit of righteousness takes the new creation and lifts it in the righteousness of God to do right! If I fail, then the Father, not the law, chastens me.
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.(Hebrews 12:6)
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? (Hebrews 12:7)
But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (Hebrews 12:8)
Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? (Hebrews 12:9)
For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. (Hebrews 12:10)
Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. (Hebrews 12:11)
Here is the fulfillment of God’s work in us. All the law, all the grace, all the love, all the chastening is to bring about in us the peaceable fruit of His righteousness. As the law of God exposes sin, it shows us that in Adam we are not righteous. As grace takes sin out of the way, it shows us that we are no longer in Adam. It is no longer sin IN me, but grace; so grace teaches me the righteousness of God, and brings forth the peaceable fruit of righteousness, and peace with God. In the position of sonship through Jesus Christ, I can now cry, Abba, Father. Christ has taken me by the love of God into the very bosom of the Father of lights and perfection for it is Jesus Christ for us that gives us the hope of glory. It is no longer I, but Christ liveth in me. The lukewarm gospel does not address this. I have not been rebuilt like a worn out engine, and I have not had a make over; in Christ, I am a new creation set apart for His righteousness and glory. If I am to glory at all, it must be in Him. The new creature, the new creation, the blood bought soul is not under the crushing weight of the law of God. Even though the law is righteous and holy, the law only knew death as a solution for sin. Whereas, in grace, grace only knows life, eternal life in Jesus Christ my Lord. Here in Psalm 19, verse 7, we have a contrast between the law of the Lord, and the testimony of the Lord. Both are sure and steadfast, and both have led men to God’s wisdom in Jesus Christ. For Christ (as we saw in 1st Corinthians) is our wisdom, our righteousness, our sanctification, and our redemption. He makes the simple wise in God’s wisdom, and not in the wisdom of men.
As a new creature in Christ I can delight myself in the law of the Lord because of the grace of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. For the New Testament is in His blood not my own blood. His blood has satisfied all the righteous claims of God against me. I have not set myself free, but Christ set me free. Once again, as Paul stated, Christ liveth in me. It is a present reality with every true child of God. Now lets go further in our quest for the knowledge of God. Consider a baby step in Proverbs 1:7 ¶ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. This is a small step in the Spirit of God convicting the soul of sin. If there is a penalty for sin there must be a fear of the penalty. If one is sentenced then the sentence must be completed. The man in the desolation and ruin of life will finally say that Woe is me! for I am undone. (Isaiah 6:5 )
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. (Proverbs 9:10a) We realize that Adam is under judgment, for all have sinned, and all have come short of the glory of God. This leaves all men with no hope, this leaves all men in fear of death, this leaves all men under God’s law and judgment, but now the righteousness of God has come. It has come in a man, the Son of God, Jesus Christ, for the sole purpose to redeem us who were under the law, and under the law of sin and death. God gave the law of Moses to teach us our condition before Him, and to reveal in us our low estate, helplessness, and sinfulness. The law of God, in the final analysis, is given to magnify God’s love and God’s grace to us. Under the law, and without Christ, death’s darkness is great! Under grace, in Christ, the light of life eternal is great! This lifts the soul, the new creation, into eternity for I am translated into the kingdom of God’s dear Son.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: (Colossians 1:13)
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (Colossians 1:14)
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Colossians 1:15)
In Colossians He has taken me out of the world and given me a new home in glory. In Colossians, we find that He is the Son of God’s love, and in this love to me, my position is changed from guilty to grace. Before God I am no longer in Adam and death, but now I am in Christ Jesus and He lives within me, and because of this fact I have the hope of glory and it is all under the power of Christ’s eternal Godhead. Christ has given me the power of His endless life, He accomplished this in His own death upon the cross of Calvary. But I find I am not alone, for He has brought forth many children by His redemptive work on the cross of Calvary, and He says to all of us, Children have you any meat?
What is the depth of the word of God? There are not enough hours to spend searching its pages, digesting its truth, and living its word? The law of the Lord is a rejoicing to the soul of the newborn creature in Christ. The new creature finds its purity, and obeys its schoolmaster. The knowledge of the law showed me my own hopelessness, that my state was separation from God. I could cry out, Adam how could you? And Adam could not give me an answer. How could he put us in such a state before God? Under the law of sin and death, under the law of a holy and righteous God, Adam could not give me a remedy, therefore, I must look to another. I must find a deliverer through the desert, through the wilderness, I cry, Help me, help me for I am undone. Then a voice from above speaks, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. I listen to His word, Come unto me, for I am meek and lowly. Come unto me for I am the way, I am the truth and I am the life. Oh, what joy to the soul when it finds grace in the Lord Jesus Christ. When we look back with a view from grace and heaven, the heart rejoices in the law of God. For the commandments of the law is pure as the King in Psalm 24 who has clean hands and a pure heart. The Lord Jesus shows us the beauty of the law that it was the law that exposed our sins, it was the law that drove us to Christ; for there is no hope in this world. We had to go outside of this world to find God’s grace. Grace gives light to the blind eye, and grace gives brighter vision to the wonder of Christ. For now the eye of the soul sees the invincible redeemer of man. Eyes that were blind are now opened. In John Chapter 9, verse 35, the man that was born blind (after receiving his sight) came to Christ. The Lord Jesus asked him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? The man answered the Lord Jesus, Who is he Lord that I might believe on him? (John 9:36) The Lord Jesus replied, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. The man who had received his sight said, Lord I believe, and he worshiped his omnipotent Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ. Even though he had received his sight, his soul was still wandering in darkness, even though God had given him sight it was now that he needed light. He received life from Jesus Christ, his immediate reaction was to believe and worship the Son of God.
Just a side note for all those who claim that Christ was not Deity. If He was not Deity, He could not have accepted this man’s worship. The only way that He could have accepted this worship (recorded by the Spirit of God) was to be in His Person Deity, the Almighty God. Later in the ministry of Paul the apostle, men tried to worship him. (Acts 14) He denied worship because he was a mere man. Now back to the simplicity of Psalm 19.
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. (Psalm 19:8)
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. (Psalm 19:9)
In verse 9 God confirmed verses 7 and 8. Verse 9 takes away any doubt of God’s position over Adam. For it is the fear of the Lord that is clean, and enduring forever. Again, who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? It can only be the one, the only One who has clean hands, and a pure heart. (Psalm 24) The subject is both the purity of God, the purity of His word, and the purity of His testimony. Remember the advertising ad that claimed that the product was 99.9% pure; the advertiser was stating that his product was not perfect, but had imperfections, and the people swallowed it up. Now pure is pure, and 100% pure is Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 7:26) For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens. Therefore, in examining the word ‘pure,’ when God brings us His law and His testimony, He speaks of it as being ‘pure.’ Did you notice the list of words in verses 7, 8 and 9 in Psalm 19? We should add the total of these words, not in number, but in a spiritual sense: of holiness and righteousness. In verse 7, we have the words: perfect, sure, and wise. In verse 8, we have the words: right, pure, and enlightening. In verse 9, we have the words: clean, enduring, true, and righteous. You see something remarkable in God’s testimony of His word, of His law, and of His testimony. These words also speak of the character of your Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. (Psalm 19:10)
All the treasures of the earth cannot compare to the Man Jesus Christ, and all power in heaven, and in earth has been given unto Him. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (Matthew 28:18) Christ is more desirable than gold, yea, more than fine gold, all the treasure of the earth cannot compare to the rose of Sharon, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is sweeter than the honey out of the eater, for He gives out of His divine life, the power of everlasting life. The gold speaks of earthly treasure, and the honey speaks to our senses and our taste. We are to take the sincere milk of the word, both Living and written.
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: (1st Peter 2:2)
If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.(1st Peter 2:3)
To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, (1st Peter 2:4)
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.(1st Peter 2:5)
We see that all our value, all our life, all our senses are to be conformed to the treasures that are found in Jesus Christ. Truly, O taste and see that the LORD [is] good: blessed [is] the man [that] trusteth in him. (Psalm 34:8) What a man has in this life has no value in heaven. What he eats does not grow his character, only his frame and stature, but Christ gives man eternal riches, eternal substance, for Christ is preparing many mansions for His own. And He is to us while we sojourn on earth, the bread of life. There is nothing finer or sweeter as our Redeemer. Lets take a side trip to Psalm 119, verses 72, 127, and 103.
The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver. (Psalm 119:72)
Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.(Psalm 119:127)
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! (Psalm 119:103)
The psalmist describes the value of the law of the Lord. It is the law that cometh forth from the mouth of God, and its value is higher than all the gold, yea, even above fine gold. And as it testifies, we find these treasures of life in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that is, yea, and Amen. The words of God are sure, and true. There is no room for speculation, for His words have been formed by His mouth. He is the righteous Man, and He gives life to His own. Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. (Luke 4:4)
The Lord Jesus spoke these very words to the devil himself. The great deceiver was rebuked by the word of God. Christ quoted from the book of Deuteronomy, three times the omnipotent One denied the temptation of the tempter. Honey is just not sweet, but it has a deeper sweetness than all other sweeteners. It gave light to the eyes of Jonathan when he was about to faint. (1 Samuel 14:29) Even the process of honey comes from on high. It is gathered by the bee, who searches for nectar, then the nectar is turned into honey. In unique cells of wax, the bee stores its honey for the winter. Each cell is not round, but a hexagon, and is linked together by many cells. The bee flies faithfully to find nectar, then with his divine GPS flies back to the hive. These are worker bees, but there are also drone bees, the worker bee can be compared to the wheat in the parable of the wheat and the tares. The tares or the drone bees take from the hive. They are parasites on the colony of bees. And if they become the dominant populace, the hive will slowly die. This, the enemy, has done. But the Lord said, Leave it alone until the end. The wheat is mine saith the Lord, but the tares are the seeds of the enemy, Leave them alone until the harvest, and then gather my wheat into my barn, and gather the tares and burn them. The drone bees take what is good in the hive, and in the winter there is not enough honey for the worker bees to survive and they die. The drones came into the Church in the first century of church history, and have been trying to destroy the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ ever since. The enemy has done this! The author of deception and death, Satan, the fallen angel of light became the cloud of darkness that crept over and into the Church. The honey became bitter in the mouth of Lucifer. Therefore, he rebelled against God and was cast down, and the evil seed was sown. The Lord Jesus looked at all the Pharisees and said, Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44) Consequently, over two thousand years, we have had the devil’s slaughter in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ beginning with Antipas, and then slowly systematically spiritually destroying the children of God. But the children of God love the commandments of God above gold, yea, fine gold. Even 100% pure gold is not good enough. By the way, we have the imperfection in mans gold. You can only buy .999 purity in mans gold. Even in his wealth and in his gold man is flawed, but the word of God, the very words of the Lord are tried in the furnace of fire seven times, and they are pure. His words have no dross.
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (Psalm 12:6)
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. (Proverbs 30:5)
The Christian loves the commandments of the Lord, for every word in God’s book is pure. As a schoolmaster, the law has brought me to the purity of God in Jesus Christ. The One, the only One who has a pure heart has brought me to Himself and made me part of His purity, for Christ liveth in me. And where shall I find my path? It is in the word of God. Psalm 119:9, 10, ¶ BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
As Psalm 19 takes us from the creation of God to the word of God and God’s commandments, so also Psalm 119 takes us into the word of God, deep into its holy purpose: to cleanse the soul, and lead us to Christ. We are warned by the word of God in verse 11 of Psalm 19. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. We should take heed of the Spirit’s conviction by the word of God. For there is a great reward in keeping God’s word. And in doing so, we can declare with Paul, hence forth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord will give. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (2nd Timothy 4:8)
Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. (Psalm 19:12)
Do the commandments and the law of God agree with faith? Yes! For they bring out the need of faith, for in me is no good thing; goodness and grace have to come from God in Jesus Christ, my Savior. Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Here is the heart of every man. It is deceitful, it has lost its way, who can understand it? As we read in the book of Jeremiah, only the Lord knows the depth of the deceitful heart. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (Jeremiah 17:9,10)
The redeemed proclaim, I am in your hands Lord, only in thy hands can I be made pure, and who can we go to, for thou has the words of life, thou knowest the open sins, and the secret sins of the heart, the sins of the mind that beguile the soul, and the presumptive sins, and the accepted sins of mankind. Sin of all nature is accepted, and proselyted all around us. We have a system that accepts the vile sin of murder in abortion, we have a system that accepts homosexuality (the degrading of mans flesh). We have the untold markings of the body in tattooing, the endless vanity of body pride in piercings, in selfies, and possessions: all presumptuous sins. The child of God cries out, Keep thy servants from this evil, let it not have dominion over me.
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. (Psalm 19:13)
In verse 13 of Psalm 19, we have the victory, we are to expose sin, not only in ourselves but in the world. We are to condemn the world by the word of God through the Spirit of Christ so that man might repent, and find eternal life in the Giver of life, Jesus Christ. The great transgression was the sin of Adam, for death came by sin, and sin came by one man. (Romans 5:12) Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. The sin of Adam led to the fulfillment of the great transgression in the fullness of time when Christ gave His life on the cross of Calvary when man in Adam killed the Prince of life. And those who by faith of the Son of God have come to God’s grace and mercy are truly the beholders of God’s grace and truth in Jesus Christ. He, the Lord Jesus, is the final verse of Psalm 19 — Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)
To summarize the simplicity of the whole Psalm, the Spirit of God uses 24 words of pure understanding for His redeemed. The 19th psalm is the introduction to the 119th Psalm. Here in 19th Psalm we find our approach to God which leads us to Psalm 119 in our path with God. Hopefully, the Spirit of grace will take us there in His time, for His time is my time, and my time is His time, and then time will be no longer. Amen.
Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
¶ <<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>> The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. (Psalm 19:1)
Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. (Psalm 19:2)
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. (Psalm 19:3)
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun, (Psalm 19:4)
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. (Psalm 19:5)
His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. (Psalm 19:6)
¶ The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. (Psalm 19:7)
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. (Psalm 19:8)
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. (Psalm 19:9)
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. (Psalm 19:10)
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. (Psalm 19:11)
Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. (Psalm 19:12)
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. (Psalm 19:13)
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. (Psalm 19:14)
