The Inseparable Truth

The Inseparable Truth

Luke 11:40

Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?

The outward man gets all the attention; yet, he is a corpse dressed in fine apparel. The flesh claims life; yet is a minister of death, deep within it’s darkened carcass is the wickedness of it’s will, the seat of iniquity, and the throne of sin. And from this comes the human tyranny of evil that destroys the very being that it contains. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. (Matthew 23:27) The Lord could look within man when He was among us, as He does from His throne in heaven now. He reveals that the fool is he who thinks that the flesh, or the outward man is all that man was and is, but inside our frame is a being unlike all the beasts of the earth, or the created beings above. Although, we lost our glory in Adam, God reached out to us through His beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; all that is against us was poured out in judgment against and on the glorious Son of God. So therefore, God in the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son could create out of dust, or flesh a new creation in Jesus Christ. We, the sons of God, have been changed by the glory of God, and by the Word of His power. We have become bone of His bone, and flesh of His flesh in the mystery of His will and purpose. So our will becomes His will. The seat of iniquity within us now becomes His throne and temple. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16) Sin is cast out, it has been reconciled by the death of His Son, our transgressions have been cast as far as the east is from the west. We are in His sight as new born babes in Christ. The glorious Spirit of God comes to dwell within us, the glorious proof of our salvation. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3: 3, 4) And our life is hid in Christ in God, an inseparable divine union of God dwelling in man, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 b) He has saved me by claiming me as His own. The testator has signed the testament with His blood that I am His child.

He is the good shepherd, and I am the lamb of mercy. He being the Lamb of God removed my sin at the cross when He died for the sin of the whole world. I can boldly say ‘I am His, and He is mine.’ My beloved [is] mine, and I [am] his: he feedeth among the lilies. (Song of Songs 2:16) Oh, what love divine. ‘God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself.’ To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:19) So that all things could come under His mercy and His love.

The world looks at the cross as a place of death and defeat; yet, at the cross the Sovereign of all things accomplished the greatest victory — He defeated the greatest foe, and He opened the door of mercy for those who would love Him and call on His name. Now victorious, I am dead in Christ and alive unto my God. This comes forth as a paradox, but in the reality of salvation, I must die to live. Paul declared to the Galatians, But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. (Galatians 6:14) So in death we are born anew. The whited sepulchre has been replaced by life from the Lord Jesus, and the indwelling of the Spirit of God. God has set His throne in my heart, and in my soul, so that I can cry out “Abba, Father.” ‘Thank you Lord Jesus for saving my soul. Thank you Lord Jesus for making me whole, thank you Lord for giving to me Thy great salvation, so rich and free.’ Amen.
