Behold The Lamb of God
As we look through the glass darkly, we only see in part the wonders of Christ. Hours in the word of God, guidance from the Spirit of God, and still like Moses on the mount we only see the hinder parts of perfection — this one who is Eternity, for all is in Him. We go to a sphere of the unknown; before the foundations of the world, before the angels, and before what we call matter of any kind existed. And in the midst of thought we see the Eternal Being that is God. A Being of Omniscience, a Being of Omnipotence, a Being of Omniscience, which later we call Omnipresence, a Being that counsels within His Godhead; the Father of love and perfection, the Son the object of His love, and the Spirit of God, the active part of that love. They counsel together in perfect unity, and before the creation of God the writings of God are commenced in all their spiritual power, and the creation is planned from the smallest unseeable particle to the masses that will fill all the wonders of God’s creation. (Revelation 5:1)
The Son is given authoritative power of the Word, so that all things that will be made will be spoken into existence by the Word of His power. (Hebrew 1:3) As Son, He will also be called the Word of God (John 1:1), and knowledge and wisdom will be found in Him. (Proverbs 8)
We, as the children of God, must break the shackles of this world, there is no room for unbelief in our hearts. This is our God and Creator of our life, for our life is hid in Christ in God. We are in Christ, and He is in the Father’s bosom. (John 1 ) Our God has no beginning nor ending, and He and He alone has created all things through the counsel of His own will. (Ephesians 1:11) Can our minds and hearts handle these great truths? It is only the Spirit of God who can lead us into all truth. We must rest in Him to guide us, and only through His guidance can we look on the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ before the world was. (John 17:5) It is that glory that He will not relinquish, no not even on the cross at a later time. We are standing on holy ground before the world was. As we look forward to the cross, the cross only made His glory shine brighter and brighter until the perfect day when we shall see Him face to face. (Revelation 4:8-11; 5:6-14) The wonder of the Revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave to His Son, the last book in the cannon of our Scripture, and it’s contents were sealed before the foundation of the world was set. Only the Lamb of God would be worthy to open this book, for He has redeemed us to God through His own blood. The mysteries of God, His Eternal Being, His determinate counsel, the whole plan of redemption was set before the stars were cast into space by the works of His hands. (Hebrews 1:12, John 17:4)
As the Apostle Paul referred to his trip into Arabia in the Book of Galatians, we see him standing on that mount in Arabia. Whether in the spirit he could not tell, but as he moved through the heavens to meet his Redeemer in the place of God’s glory, Paul heard things that were not lawful to utter. There, like Moses, Paul received the doctrines and revelations of Church truth. He received the revelation of one body in Jesus Christ; that we are the beloved of the Lord Jesus, even His beloved bride; and that our life is hid in Christ in God. (Colossians ) We are the adopted sons of God, we have an inheritance in Jesus Christ, and in Him we have unsearchable riches. Paul received the doctrines of God in Spirit and in truth; the marvels of Christ’s death on the cross, the law being set aside for a greater glory which is grace through faith in Christ Jesus, that He was raised from the dead in resurrection power by the Father and the Spirit, and by His own power He laid down His life and took it again. Paul received the doctrine of the new man in Christ Jesus, of twain He made one new man, and the march of faith, and the faithful in Hebrews 11; the emancipating power of the blood of Christ through the sacrifice of Himself, the heavenly Jerusalem, the city above and the heavenly people called out of this earth to serve the Lord. And let us not forget the great hope that the shout of God and the trump will sound, and we, the redeemed, will ascend to our Father and our God to ever be with our beloved the Lord Jesus Christ. These are just a few things that Paul received on that holy mount in Arabia, whether in the body, or in the spirit he could not tell. But throughout his entire life, Paul was given over to the will of God. As we go on, we leave this holy mountain where Christ witnessed His glory to Peter, James, and John. He is the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world. I ask, do you see Him standing at the river Jordan, the river of death? The Lord is walking by the will of His Father, and the determinate counsels of God. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. (Hebrews 10:7)‘I delight to do thy will, O God.’ It is through the determinate counsels of God that He delights to do the Father’s will. Every step of His life is an epistle written for all men. He, as the Creator of all things, stands before the foundation of the world as the Lamb of God. He would complete all God’s righteousness in His death on the cross, and as that sacrifice He would ascend as a sweet savor to God the Father. Behold the Lamb of God, as He comes in the fullness of the time (Galatians 4), a specific time planned by God; and in a specific way, born of a woman, as the seed of promise; the first promise of God given after the fall of Adam. As sin engulfed Adam as a blanket — not only over Adam, but also over creation, God gave the promise of the seed of the woman; that He would be the Redeemer of God, made under the law so that He would fulfill all the counsels of God. As He gave the law to Moses, He would now fulfill the whole law in Himself and take it out of the way, and nail it to His cross — that grace may abound in Him. Behold the Lamb of God. Amen.
