Being First Doesn’t Necessary Indicate Truth
Truth and the position of being first or original are two very different concepts. Just because something or someone holds the position of being first does not make that person or thing connected to truth. What does scripture say? The first man on earth was Adam, and he gave his Federal Headship position away for a lie. The second man prepared by God to be ‘the new man’ was Christ and He was Truth personified for grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the lst Adam [was made] a quickening spirit. (1st Corinthians 15:45)
The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven. (1st Corinthians 15:47)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
I recently overheard a person brag that his religion was the only true religion because it was the first religion . . . well, not so fast there, my friend. The first religion on planet Earth was the religion of Cain, and he was a murderer and cast off by God. Now, if anyone believes that their religion was the first religion and thus being first makes their religion the true religion than maybe they need to discern between what is truth and what is a lie.
There is a sharp difference between religion and Christianity. I suggest that you follow this LINK to understand the difference. True Christianity only has ONE NAME . . . the name of Jesus Christ. True Christianity only has ONE HEAD, Christ.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: (Colossians 2:16)
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. (Colossians 2:17)
Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, (Colossians 2:18)
And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. (Colossians 2:19)
Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Colossians 2:20)
(Touch not; taste not; handle not; (Colossians 2:21)
Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? (Colossians 2:22)
Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. Colossians 2:23)
True Christianity only has ONE Savior: Jesus Christ. True Christianity is NOT placing your trust and your eternal existence in a CHURCH, but in CHRIST alone.
And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. (Colossians 2:4)
For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. (Colossians 2:5)
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: (Colossians 2:6)
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:7)
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (Colossians 2:8)
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:9)
Christianity is NOT contained in a building, nor in a place, but it is totally contained in a Person. When you can separate yourself from the fallacious doctrine that Christianity is a religion, and that only in a place can God be truly found and worshiped then only then will you be able to understand that the Godhead is NOT like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.
Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. (Acts 17:29)
Before the era of Constantine, Christians were labeled by others as being Christians only without any other terms. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. (Acts 26:28) Being called a Christian was not enough for during the era of Constantine who married the Church to the world, and made Christianity profitable and political, then Christians accepted being marked and tagged as followers of ‘spiritual individuals.’ Approximately during the era of 300 to 350 A.D. and onward the Church had left her first love to follow the philosophical teaching of notable men of renown who sought followers after their own teachings and pernicious doctrines.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2nd Peter 2:1)
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (2nd Peter 2;2)
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. (2nd Peter 2:3)
Christianity became divided into factions within factions. Labels, names, religious universities and sects, monasteries and every branch of political powers of influence fought an unseen battle for finances and control over the new thing called ‘The Universal Religion.’ This Universal Religion was the religion of Romanism, and what followed was even more destructive: the denominationalism of Protestantism which was the fracturing of Christ as the Head from His body: the spiritual Church. There is no true Church of God on earth today EXCEPT in the heart of every believer. (There are locations for fellowship, and locations for instruction but this does not qualify them to be called a Church.)
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:20)
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1:21)
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:22)
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (Romans 1:23)
When God planted His Church in the Son of His love, Satan planted his church in himself. Wherever God plants His holiness, Lucifer/Satan plants his iniquity. The war that began in the supernatural realm of God’s heavenly government expanded into an earthly war to remove mankind from the truth of God to the lies of Satan. Lucifer/Satan is most comfortable in religious worship centers, for Lucifer was created as the anointed cherub to serve God in worship. Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. (Ezekiel 28:14) Lucifer is an expert in drawing others from the worship of God to worshiping the things of his own making. Lucifer caused one third of the angels in God’s realm to turn away from their Creator God to follow him instead. (Revelation 12)
Where have you placed your trust, your belief, your salvation your eternal existence? Have you placed it in a Church, an organization, a Pope, a preacher, a rabbi, a spiritual man of renown? Be very careful believing that since your Church, your religion, your faith is very old that it is centered on and in Truth. Age is not the same as Truth. Being ancient does not make antiquity Truth.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (John 4:23) God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)
